Does music actually stimulate the cortexes inside your brain? Many people say that some of the music that is on our iPods is ruining our greatest tool, the brain.  However, music is a major part of my life spiritually, physically, and mentally. I feel that music is one of the greatest achievements that mankind has ever accomplished. Often I think that if it weren’t for music that some of my family’s greatest and most complex problems would never have been solved. Music is a person you can talk to without even opening your mouth. Music is there for you when you feel alone in the world. Often I find that music also changes my current attitude or demeanor.   Some of my best days start with an upbeat song or just one of my favorite songs that just seem to help me surpass my problems. Studies show that listening to soothing music such as classical and instrumental selections has found that thirty minutes of listening to this kind of music has released endorphins that have an effect equal to that of the muscle relaxer pill known as Valium. This shows that music not only mentally takes you to another place but physically frees you. Music soothes the soul.
